Woman, 75, stabbed in the head in Fordham apartment elevator: NYPD

FORDHAM, The Bronx (PIX11) – A 75-year-old woman was brutally stabbed while in an apartment elevator in Fordham on Sunday, according to the NYPD.

The stabbing happened on Morris Avenue around 11:32 a.m. Police said a 38-year-old man, identified as Edwin Rios, allegedly followed the woman into the elevator.

Rios then allegedly stabbed the woman in the head multiple times, according to authorities.

The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Rios was arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to authorities.
