'Will say things most don’t know': Entrepreneur's post on Policybazaar co-founder

Entrepreneur Dilip Kumar shared a few lesser-known facts about Yashish Dahiya, the co-founder and CEO of Policybazaar. In a post on X on March 2, Kumar delved into Dahiya's remarkable journey as a high-performance athlete, even at the age of 52.

"People know about Yashish Dahiya as the CEO of Policybazaar who went to IIT, IIM and built a billion-dollar company. I’m going to tell things that most don’t know about him. Stuff that makes him a high performance athlete even at the age of 52," Kumar said in his post on X.

According to Kumar, Dahiya began to learn to swim when he was 35. His commitment and dedication saw him triumph, winning gold and silver medals in the 400m and 200m freestyle events at the national masters swimming championships at 40.

His exceptional performance earned him the opportunity to represent India at the Masters Swimming World Championship in Kazan. "He was 40+ then," added Kumar.

"All this while building Policybazaar," the entrepreneur said in the post.

At 44, Dahiya participated in his first triathlon, clinching victory and setting records in both Ironman and half Ironman triathlons across all Indian age groups.

In 2022, Dahiya completed the Rotterdam Marathon in 3 hours and 7 minutes, earning qualification for the prestigious Boston Marathon, Kumar said.

"He is 52 now and still trains every week and is competing in triathalons and marathons and running a $5 billion company," Kumar further said.

In a conversation spanning over 90 minutes, Dilip Kumar and Yashish Dahiya explored the delicate balance between endurance sports, family life, and entrepreneurship.
