Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday addressed a few matters pertaining to the Centre's recent advisory, which mandated government approval for under trial or training platforms before launching Artificial Intelligence (AI) products.
Taking to X, the minister highlighted three important points to note with respect to the Centre's advisory, which was the second under the new IT rules.
He said that the advisory is aimed at large platforms and won't be applicable to startups. He further said that the rules are aimed at untested AI platforms "from deploying on Indian internet".
"Process of seeking permission , labelling and consent based disclosure to user abt untested platforms is insurance policy to platforms who can otherwise be sued by consumers," Rajeev Chandrasekhar tweeted.
The Union IT Minister said that the safety and trust of "India's internet" is a shared and common goal for the central government, users and platforms.
