has launched the
SEL2450G
, a compact 35mm full-frame compatible E-mount
lens
for their Alpha camera series, in India. The standard zoom lens boasts an
F2.8
maximum aperture throughout its entire zoom range, delivering high-resolution performance and beautiful bokeh in a small, lightweight body.

Despite its versatile range, the lens maintains a compact design with a filter diameter of 67mm, a maximum diameter of 74.8mm, a length of 92.3mm, and a weight of approximately 440g.
Sony has employed the latest optical and mechanical design to achieve sharp, detailed images at all focal lengths. The arrangement of four aspherical lenses and two pieces of Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass reduces aberrations, including chromatic aberration, ensuring high-resolution performance from the centre to the corners of the frame. The lens also features an 11-blade circular aperture, which, combined with optimised spherical aberration, delivers the smooth, soft bokeh characteristic of the G Lens series.
The SEL2450G offers a minimum shooting distance of 0.19m (AF) at the wide end and a maximum magnification of 0.30x (AF), enabling high-quality close-up shooting. Equipped with two linear motors, the lens achieves high speed, high precision, high tracking, and quiet focusing. It supports high-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking of up to 120 frames per second on the Alpha 9 III camera.
For videographers, the SEL2450G provides AF tracking for high frame rate
4K 120p
or FHD 240p movie recording, critical focus control, and compatibility with in-body Active Mode image stabilisation for steady shooting while walking. The lens also supports focus breathing compensation on compatible camera bodies, allowing for high-quality video expression.
The SEL2450G comes with user-friendly functions such as a customizable focus hold button, aperture ring, aperture click ON/OFF switch, and a focus mode switch, offering comprehensive control and high operability. The lens is dust and moisture-resistant and features a fluorine coating on the front surface to prevent dirt from adhering.
