NEW YORK (PIX11) – The month of April isn't just bringing showers to the tri-state area.
Snow is expected to fall in areas of upstate New York, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul. The Adirondacks and Catskills could see up to two feet of snow, while the North Country, Capital, Central, upper Mid-Hudson and Southern Tier regions might get between 6 to 12 inches.
New York City, Long Island and the lower Mid-Hudson region are expected to see 2-3 inches of rain starting Tuesday night, Hochul said. Rain is expected to fall through Thursday, which could cause major flooding.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible in the state, and some areas may see power outages, according to Hochul.
Winter storm watches are in effect in the North Country, Capital Region, Central New York and the Southern Tier through Thursday night.
