BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – The roof of a 100-year-old vacant building collapsed in Brooklyn on Sunday, according to the FDNY.
It happened at 143 Roebling St. around 4:40 p.m. The wall lining of the roof partially collapsed, causing debris like bricks and metal to crash onto the sidewalk, the FDNY said.
At least five cars were damaged by debris, officials said. No injuries were reported.
The FDNY has closed Roebling Street as the building is at risk of further collapsing. There have been numerous complaints about the building before its collapse, officials said.
The building, a former factory, has been vacant for the last two years, according to the FDNY.
