NEW DELHI: Unprecedented scenes surprised spectators at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala and fans on the internet alike as MS Dhoni walked out to bat at the No.9 spot for Chennai Super Kings in their match against Punjab Kings on Sunday.
Expecting a Dhoni mania to come early as CSK lost regular wickets against Punjab, Dhoni and the CSK think-tank teased the fans, delaying the legend's arrival to the middle.

And when Dhoni finally came out to bat at the No.9 slot, he just faced a solitary ball and fell for a golden duck with Harshal Patel knocking him over with a lovely in-dipping slower yorker.
While Dhoni's stay in the middle didn't last long, it was the first time ever, the legend batted at No.9 or lower in his T20 career.

Eagerly awaiting for the legend, the late Dhoni's arrival sparked a meme fest on the internet.

It was the first time, Dhoni was dismissed for a duck in

The victory pushed up CSK to the third spot on the points table. With their seventh defeat in 8 matches, Punjab are at the 8th spot on the points table.
