SHIMLA: Senior BJP leader and Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture

Meenakshi Lekhi

said that it is sad that the government running in Himachal Pradesh is not a government of happiness but a government of sorrow. She said that the

Congress government

in Himachal Pradesh is working in a spirit of revenge where an attempt is being made to stop the

public welfare schemes

run by the previous

BJP government

in Himachal Pradesh.

Meenakshi Lehi while addressing the media persons in Shimla on Sunday said that health facilities are crumbling in Himachal as benefits of free treatment are not reaching the needy people.
She said that BJP has gone among the public with its Lok Sabha report card, but the Congress government of Himachal could not show its report card of the last 16 months. She said this is not a “sukh ki sarkar” but is the “dukh ki sarkar.”
“We can say with certainty that the present Congress government has not done a single development work in Himachal Pradesh and that is why they are not going among the public and seeking votes for the Lok Sabha elections,’ she said.

She said that the Congress government will be known for its mismanagement, where in its 16 months tenure, this government has taken a loan of Rs 25,000 crore and has broken all the previous records in taking loans. She said that the previous BJP government had taken a loan of only Rs 17829 crore between 2012 and 2017. “Even we are still unable to understand where this Congress government spent this loan,” she added.
She said that the Congress government is completely anti-women as it only knows how to lie and mislead the people and women of Himachal Pradesh. She said that in the assembly elections Congress had come with a guarantee to give Rs 1500 monthly to women in the first cabinet. Now that Lok Sabha elections have come, Congress once again gave the promise of Rs 1500 per month to women, she said.
She said that Congress leaders never had any intention of providing Rs 1500 to women, that is why they did not make any provision for Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana in the recent assembly budget session and then hastily announced this scheme.
