BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini will replace Manohar Lal Khattar as the new Chief Minister of Haryana after the latter resigned from the post earlier today.
Saini will take the oath of office at 5 pm.
Khattar's resignation came amid speculation of a split in the alliance between the BJP and the Dushyant Chautala-led Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) coalition in Haryana. The ties between the two parties worsened following differences over seat-sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Khattar and his cabinet ministers have submitted their resignation letters to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya at the Raj Bhavan.
