Manoj Bajpayee reveals actors used to get Rs 150 conveyance in early days: 'Actors who traveled in their own cars, would get allowance for petrol'

, Manoj reminisced about a time when every bit of extra money mattered. "

Salary

was anyway less. Our biggest support used to be

conveyance

. We used to get Rs 150, and we used to think and plan what we would do with that Rs 150," he revealed.

When asked about whether stars still receive conveyance allowances, Manoj expressed a hint of nostalgia mixed with humour. "Sadly, it's not there (anymore)," he remarked.
Manoj further elaborated on how the industry dynamics have changed over the years, even in terms of basic allowances. "Earlier, even when the actor would travel in their own car, they would get reimbursed for

petrol

. Now they don’t even give that," he added.

Around three decades ago, Manoj travelled to the so-called "

City of Dreams

" to make a name for himself, and with his sheer hard work, he undoubtedly set an example of how an outsider can survive in the industry despite various challenges. Manoj, who got a major break in films with Satya, has now 100 movies in his filmography.

On the work front, he is currently being lauded for his power-packed performance as ACP Avinash in Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, which is the sequel to Silence... Can You Hear It? (I could not), the 2021 crime thriller.
