Kili Paul is currently living it up in Ahmedabad. “I am enjoying it here. I love India in general, the people are so kind, they treat me like a celebrity whenever I am here. It’s amazing. I enjoy the attention,” says Kili in a chat with us.
In the city to attend a friend’s wedding, Kili danced with folk singer Geeta Rabari, and says that it is an experience he’ll never forget.

“It was amazing because Indian weddings are like festivals. I met

and enjoyed performing with her. I have listened to her songs, but I had never thought I would end up performing with her on the same stage.”
Talking about his love for Indian food, Kili says, “I have had many Gujarati dishes like dhokla and aamras puri. I also love ghee roti and my favourite is mango lassi. However, my comfort food is biryani, and I make sure to indulge in it wherever I go.”
‘I’VE ALWAYS LOVED BOLLYWOOD

Kili has expressed his love for Bollywood through his Insta, where he is seen lip-syncing to Hindi songs. He shares, “I have loved Bollywood since childhood, I used to watch a lot of Hindi movies and found them addictive. I started connecting to India with ’90s music. I love Shah Rukh Khan’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I also love

Arijit Singh

’s songs a lot. People may not know this, but in Africa, many people follow Bollywood, even more than Hollywood!” He adds, “I love Shah Rukh Khan – for me, he is the King of Romance, while

Salman Khan

is an action superstar. I visited the Bigg Boss house (Season 16) when I was in Mumbai. I would love to be part of the show just to meet Salman.
‘India fascinates me as an artiste’
Whenever I am in India, it is fascinating to see how people react when they see me - a lot of people don’t think I travel out of Africa often. My fans in India always make me feel special. I feel like a superstar as they want to meet me, talk to me, and click pictures with me. I want to record songs from across India, in fact I want to tour pan-India. India has a diverse culture and language - I want to entertain people here.
