, WhatsApp recently launched the

chat filters

Accessing WhatsApp chat filters:
* Open the WhatsApp app on your smartphone (Android or iPhone).
* On the main Chats screen, look at the top bar where your chat conversations are listed.

Using the chat filters on WhatsApp:
There are three available filters:
* All: This is the default view and shows all your chats, including individual and

group chats

.
* Unread: This filter highlights conversations where you haven't yet read or replied to messages. It's a great way to

prioritise chats

requiring your attention.
* Groups: This filter gathers all your group chats in one place, making it easier to find specific group conversations among individual chats. Subgroups within Communities (if available in your region) might also be included here.

How to switching between chat filters on WhatsApp:
There are two ways to switch between chat filters:
* Tap on the filter name: At the top of the Chats screen, you'll see the currently selected filter name (e.g., "All"). Tap on it to see a dropdown menu with all three filter options. Simply choose the filter you want to apply.
* Swipe left or right: Another quick way to switch filters is by swiping left or right on the Chats screen itself. Swiping left moves to the next filter (e.g., from "All" to "Unread"), and swiping right goes back to the previous filter.
What are the benefits of using chat filters on WhatsApp:
* Filters help categorise your chats, making it easier to find specific conversations, especially with the growing number of chats you might have.
* The "Unread" filter ensures you don't miss important messages that require your attention.
* The "Groups" filter streamlines access to your group conversations, particularly helpful if you're involved in many groups.
