Festivals in May 2024: As we all know that Summers have already started as we have entered in the month May and people are advised to stay hydrated during this summer period. Now, we are going to talk about the fast and festivals, which will occur during this month so you must know the dates and days of each festival and fast.
First of all we are starting from the first week of the month, Kalashtami fast is being observed on the first day and then Varuthini Ekadashi fast will be observed and Vishnu devotees will offer prayers to Lord Vishnu.

Pradosh Vrat, Masik Shivratri and then Vaishakha Amavasya will be observed. Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti will also be celebrated across the country especially in Bengal.
The second week will start from Parshuram Jayanti, Akshay Tritiya and people will perform various auspicious activities on this day. Goddess Matangi Jayanti will also be celebrated. Lord Ganesha will be worshipped on Vinayaka Chaturthi. Ramanujacharya Jayanti, Shankaracharya Jayanti and Surdas Jayanti is also going to be celebrated. The whole world will celebrate the mother's day by showing gratitude to their mothers and make them feel really special. Thought, all days are dedicated to mother but people celebrate this day just to show their gratitude to the form of Shakti, who is considered as real Annapurna in every home. Then we will celebrate Ganga Saptami (Goddess Ganga) and Virshabha Sankranti when the Sun will enter in Scorpio zodiac sign.
The third week of the month will start from Baglamukhi Jayanti and Masik Durgashtami when people offer prayers to the Goddess who is among Dus Mahavidhya. Sita Navami, Mohini Ekadashi and Parshuram Dwadashi will also be celebrated with immense devotion and happiness. Pradish Vrat, Narasimha Jayanti will also be celebrated when devotees offer prayers to the fierce form of Lord Vishnu.

The last week of the month will start from Vaishakha Purnima, Buddha Purnima and people are going to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. Narada Jayanti will also be celebrated and this day marks the birth anniversary of Narada Ji. Narada Ji is known as the ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu and also considered as the first journalist of this world. Jyeshtha month will also begin and people will celebrate Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi, and Kalashtami.
