Actor Kunal Kemmu has stepped into the director's role with 'Madgaon Express', a madcap adventure featuring Pratik Gandhi, Avinash Tiwary, and Divyenndu Sharma. The film is produced by Excel Productions, co-owned by Farhan Akhtar. Recently, the producer-director duo sat down with IndiaToday.in to discuss their film, their various passions, and their own crazy travel experiences.

Given that the film is based on a Goa trip that goes for a toss, we quizzed them about their crazy travel stories. While Farhan Akhtar confessed he has many 'mad memories' from his trips, he went on to make a rather humorous confession. "The most horribly wrong experience was during one of my trips to Goa. Some girl I was dating at that time, dumped me while we were there," he shared sheepishly, adding that he based the entire Saif Ali Khan's Goa moment in 'Dil Chahta Hai' on his own experience.

With a laugh, Farhan then went on to add, "I got dumped and drove back myself. So that was the most lonely drive back I have ever been in my life. When you are going with somebody, you feel so cool... 'me and my girlfriend are on the road'. And then you have to come back all alone. The playlist changes completely (from your way up). That was one memorable experience for sure."

Kunal Kemmu, on the other hand, shared how his first Goa trip was actually on the Madgaon Express when he travelled with his college mates. He recounted how their group had a 'different plan' than the one decided by their teachers. Despite telling a lie, they enjoyed their time, and the actor added that he also got to experience the cultural side of Goa, making it a fulfilling experience. Furthermore, since he's been to those beaches with friends and for shoots, he has always had a great time there.

As for his 'trip gone moment', Kunal shared, "There hasn't been anything that has gone wrong. Most trips never go like planned. There are its own upward and downward moments. But thankfully, I never ended up in jail like these characters do in the film."

'Madgaon Express', which also features Nora Fatehi, Chhaya Kadam, and Upendra Limaye, will hit cinemas on March 29.
