Dhoni getting better with each knock: Zaheer, Uthappa in awe of CSK star

1 year ago 26

Zaheer Khan and Robin Uthappa were left in awe of MS Dhoni after the CSK star produced another entertaining cameo against LSG in Lucknow. Dhoni scored 28 off just 9 balls to power his side to a strong total of 176 in their 20 overs. The crowd were up on their feet to see the carnage from the CSK star on Friday at the Ekana stadium.

Dhoni would hit a 101-metre six and Quinton de Kock's wife would reveal that the sound level touched 95 decibels when he had come in to bat on the night. Speaking to JioCinema, Zaheer felt that the roar for Dhoni was getting louder, and he seemed to be getting better with each knock. Zaheer said it was unbelievable to see Dhoni put pressure on the bowlers.

"The roar is getting bigger and better and louder, and so is MS Dhoni's presence there out on the field. He's just getting better and better with every inning that he's playing and just the sheer impact of him, just unbelievable to see him go out there and put this kind of pressure on the bowlers, just phenomenal," said Zaheer. Dhoni's mind is still innovating: Uthappa

Uthappa would say that the only thing stopping Dhoni would be his own fitness, but claimed that the CSK star's mind is still up-to-date and is searching for innovation. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule

"Well, I think the only thing that's stopping him is his health. I think his fitness will be the only thing that stops him from playing any further. He loves the game. He's deeply passionate about it and wants to continue playing it. But if if there's anything that will stop him, I think it will be his own body. That will probably give way because the mind is there. The mind is innovating. The mind is staying up to date. He's like, Oh, everyone's playing the ramp shot. I can do it too," said Uthappa.

Despite Dhoni's heroics, LSG would win the match by 8 wickets. Both teams will face each other once again at the Chepauk on April 23.
