Chennai: Father-son duo kill man after restaurant denies extra sambhar

A father-son duo was arrested for killing a man after a tussle over extra sambhar at a restaurant in Chennai turned violent on Wednesday.

The man, Arun, 30, worked as the supervisor of an Adyar Ananda Bhavan restaurant on Pammal Main Road in Pallavaram in Chennai.

Shankar, 55, and his 30-year-old son Arun Kumar, visited the restaurant and asked them to parcel the food.

In this situation, they asked for extra sambhar, but the restaurant staff refused. A tussle broke out and the father-son duo allegedly hit the security guard of the restaurant.

Arun tried to stop the fight but was attacked by the father-son duo.

Arun fell down and became unconscious. He was rushed to Chrompet Government Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Shankar Nagar Police initiated an investigation and both the father and the son have been arrested.

Further investigation is underway, police said.
