Centre fills up director's posts at six IITs

NEW DELHI: Directors of

six

Indian Institutes of Technology were

appointed

on Thursday, according to official sources. The post of

director

for

IIT- Kanpur

has been lying vacant since 2023, while Guwahati position has been vacant for last 16 months.

IIT-Dhanbad

and Goa has been lying vacant for last nine & six months respectively.
Deputy director of IIT-Kanpur, Manindra Agrawal, has been appointed as director of Kanpur.

Devendra Jalihal

, a professor at IIT-Madras has been appointed as director of

IIT

Guwahati.
"Avinash Kumar Agarwal, professor at IIT-Kanpur has been appointed as director of IIT Jodhpur," a source said. "Sukumar Mishra appointed IIT-Dhanbad director, and DS Katti to be IIT-Goa head," the source added. Amit Patra, deputy director of IIT- Kharagpur has been appointed the new IIT-BHU director. tnn
