Can’t criminalise abusive language in web series, OTT content: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of India ruled that the use of abusive language in web series and OTT platforms cannot be criminalised. This happened after a complaint was filed against Episode 5 of season one of the web series, ‘College Romance’, titled ‘Happily F****d Up’. The complaint was filed under the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act for using a title that was vulgar and had obscene language. So, your favorite shows can run OTT without censoring.
