Congress MLA from Bihar, Neetu Singh has hinted at switching sides to the BJP if the saffron party gave her a ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Nawada constituency.

The constituency is presently represented by Lok Jan Shakti Party MP Chandan Singh.

Neetu Singh's remarks came after a meeting with Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary.

"If the BJP gives me the Lok Sabha ticket from Nawada, then I will think about it (joining the party)," she told media persons outside the Bihar Assembly when asked about people switching sides.

She went on to say that "neither am I angry with the Congress nor any party member".

"But I have only one demand from my party that locals should be chosen to contest the election for the seat. And I am a local," she added.

This latest development came just two days before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to join RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury for a rally in Patna on March 3.

Also on February 27, two Bihar Congress MLAs Murari Prasad Gautam and Siddharth Saurav resigned from the party, posing another major jolt to the opposition INDIA bloc in the state ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
