Director Bejoy Nambiar, known for his distinctive storytelling and cinematic flair, recently expressed his keen interest in remaking the iconic Malayalam film 'Innale.' In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, the director expressed his desire to remake the Malayalam classic.

Bejoy Nambiar, known for his work in Bollywood with films like 'Shaitan,' 'Wazir,' and the critically acclaimed 'David,' expressed his admiration for 'Innale' and the potential for a contemporary retelling. He said, "I would love to remake 'Innale' at some point. If ever I got the chance, that would be the first film I would work on. Innale means 'Yesterday' in Malayalam, and it's directed by Padmarajan. It's a beautiful film and it's a film that I would love to remake. Luckily, I got to work with Jayaram's son Kalidas during Dange."

'Innale,' directed by Padmarajan and released in 1990, was praised for its gripping narrative, powerful performances, and soulful music upon release. The film follows the journey of Dr Narendran, played by Jayaram, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a woman, played by Shobhana, with no recollection of her past. The intricate plot weaved elements of mystery, romance, and psychological drama, leaving a lasting impact on viewers.

Bejoy's last film was Dange, which featured Harshvardhan Rane, Ehan Bhat, and Nikita Dutta. The film released on March 1 in theatres.
