'Bade Miyan...' box office Day 1: Akshay-Tiger film opens to Rs 15.5 crore

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, opened its Day 1 collection with Rs 15.5 crore in India. The film has been receiving mixed reviews from all quarters.

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, is off to a flying start at the box office by earning over Rs 15 crore net on its first day in theatres. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. The action thriller clashed with Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' on the occasion of Eid. The action film was one of the most anticipated movies from Bollywood this year.

Director Ali Abbas Zafar's film was initially scheduled to release on April 10. However, it was later pushed to April 11 to grace cinemas on Eid. But, it had a paid premiere on April 10.

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' is off to a promising start at the box office. The film is estimated to have earned Rs 15.50 crore net at the domestic box office. It recorded an overall occupancy of 30.35 per cent on April 11 in India.

While the evening and night shows registered an occupancy of around Rs 33 per cent, the morning and afternoon shows had 19 per cent and 34 per cent occupancy, respectively.

Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' is a science fiction action thriller. While Prithviraj Sukumaran played the antagonist, the film also featured Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Ronit Roy Bose and several others in pivotal roles. Sonakshi Sinha was seen in a special appearance.

Jointly produced by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films, the film has musical score by Julius Packiam and songs by Vishal Mishra, cinematography by Marcin Laskawiec and editing by Steven H Bernard.
