A dining experience turned into a nightmare for a woman when she discovered not one but eight cockroaches in a plain dosa at the renowned Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place (CP). Calling the incident a "gut-wrenching" truth, Ishani shared her appalling experience in a post on Instagram.

This happened earlier in March when Ishani and her friend decided to enjoy a South Indian meal at the restaurant. The unsettling discovery was made when Ishani saw something "odd" on her dosa and picked it up from my meal. A closer inspection revealed these were cockroaches, causing immediate distress and disgust.

"It breaks my heart to recall what has happened," Ishani said in her post.

Her Instagram post detailed the unhygienic conditions of the restaurant's kitchen, which she described as far from being "an apple to the eye," highlighting its stench and partial lack of roofing.

"I do not understand how, on a busy Thursday with 30 customers walking in every hour, a restaurant so reputed can be so careless," Ishani expressed in her post, emphasising her right to food safety.

"A vegetarian restaurant whose owners are vegetarians, constantly told me that they would compensate me so that I stopped making the video," she wrote.

In her post, Ishani also mentioned that she filed a complaint at the local police station in CP.

"I am also sharing all the details with all the concerned authorities for food, sanitation and hygiene. And, here, as evidence, I am writing because I need to reach out to people as I am angered and disappointed in the authorities. I am not going to stay silent until action is taken."

Ishani's post swiftly spread across social media platforms, drawing widespread outrage from people. Many called for accountability and demanded action against the establishment for compromising on hygiene and safety standards.

Disgusting!
