5 soldiers injured after terrorists open fire on two security vehicles in J&K

NEW DELHI: Five

security personnel

on Saturday sustained injuries after

terrorists

opened fire at their

vehicles

, one of which belonged to the

Indian Air Force

(IAF) in Jammu and Kashmir's

Poonch

district.
The incident occurred near Shashidhar as the vehicles were en route to Sanai Top in the Surankote area of the district. "Five soldiers were

injured

and the condition of two is critical.

The injured troops have been airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur for further treatment," the officials said.
Additional forces from the army and police have been deployed to the region.
A comprehensive search and cordon operation is currently underway to locate and neutralize the terrorists responsible for the

attack

, as per the officials.
