Police

have

registered

three more

cases

in connection with the cyberattacks against LDF candidate in Vadakara K K Shailaja.
Perambra police registered a case against an IUML activist, who created the Facebook ID Salman Valoor, under Sections 153, 120(o) of Kerala Police Act and 125 of Representation of People's Act. The case was registered on the complaint lodged by LDF parliament constituency secretary Valsan Panoli that the accused circulated forged videos and photographs of Shailaja to create animosity among people from a particular community towards the candidate.
Meanwhile, Vadakara police in

Kozhikode

and Mattannur police in Kannur have registered a case against an expatriate K M Minhaj of Naduvannur in Kozhikode in connection with the

cyberattack

.

The case was registered for allegedly morphing Shailaja's picture and sharing it with obscene words on social media. The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by Shailaja.

The FIR registered by Mattannur police says that Minhaj circulated the morphed image of Shailaja in social media with the intention to demean the complainant in the society and to insult her modesty.
According to the FIR registered by the Vadakara police against Minhaj, he circulated social media posts with the intention to defame Shailaja and the chief minister.
