Your WhatsApp Status Updates tray might look completely different soon, here is what will change

WhatsApp is one of the most-used instant messaging platforms in India and every feature that the company rolls out, or works on, makes headlines. It was recently reported that the Meta-owned platform is planning a redesign of the Status Updates tray. And now, fresh reports indicate that more users can see this interface. This means that your WhatsApp Status Updates interface could look quite different soon.

According to a screenshot shared by WA Beta Info, users will be able to see others' WhatsApp Status updates in the form of large, vertical thumbnails. This means that they will get a better look at what other users have posted as their status update, without the need of opening it. As of now, we only see previews of status updates in the thumbnail which is the same size as that of a users' profile pic. Hence, getting an idea of what they have posted is quite difficult without opening the status. But with this new feature, you won't have to open the WhatsApp Status of another user to know what they have posted.

As a result, you can save up time by choosing to interact only with updates that seem relevant and interesting to you. The feature would come in handy for people who save up a lot of work-related contacts on their phones and aren't really keen on seeing their Status Updates except for when it is professional in nature.

WhatsApp has been working on several features regarding Status Updates recently. Just a day back, it was reported that beta testers could explore a new feature that lets them share status updates right from the status tab on their Mac.

WA Beta Info shared a screenshot which showed that users can simply head over to the Status Updates tab and share a text or photo status with their connections, just like the way it is done on the mobile app. Previously, the Mac app only allowed users to view status updates without the option to post them. This new feature gives users the freedom to manage their status updates directly from their desktop, making it more convenient for those who spend a lot of time on their computers.

Hence, users will no longer have to switch between devices, enhancing their overall experience. Additionally, users can share status updates without their mobile device being powered on or connected to the Internet. This ensures a consistent multi-device experience, with the same capabilities available across both mobile and desktop platforms.
