Woman, 74, hit and killed by car while walking in the Bronx: NYPD

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 74-year-old woman died after she was struck by a car driven by a 56-year-old woman in the Bronx on Saturday, according to the NYPD.

Police said it happened along White Plains Road and East 216th Street around 10:25 p.m. The victim was walking northbound when she was hit by a 2024 Toyota RAV 4, according to authorities.

Police said the 74-year-old woman suffered from a serious head injury. She was taken to a local hospital where she died, according to authorities.

Police said the 56-year-old driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
