Who gets what in Modi 3.0? What India Today's 'Dream Cabinet' poll suggests

Eighty per cent of participants want BJP leader Amit Shah to retain the Home Ministry while 75 per cent batted for S Jaishankar as the External Affairs Minister in the new NDA government that took office on Sunday, according to the 'Dream Cabinet' survey run by India Today.

Under the 'Dream Cabinet', readers were asked to select their choices of their leaders who were part of the previous Modi government, ministers and former chief ministers who have been elected this time, to be a part of the Modi 3.0 Cabinet. If the users wanted to choose a new face, they would write their name. People had to select from a total of 11 ministries, and which leader should be made in-charge of which ministry.

As per the 'Dream Cabinet', 71 per cent of participants wanted Rajnath Singh to retain the Defence Ministry. 46 per cent wanted Nirmala Sitharaman to become the Finance Minister again despite a tough fight from Piyush Goyal. 32 per cent batted for Ashwini Vaishnaw to be appointed as the Railway Minister again.

For the Education Ministry, 15 per cent of participants wanted Dharmendra Pradhan to become the minister. He was the first choice in the 'Dream Cabinet' and users also voted for former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Piyush Goyal and Anurag Thakur for the position as well.

Nitin Gadkari remains the favourite to head the Road Transport Ministry with 72 per cent of people backing him to hold the post. Interestingly, 29 per cent wanted Nirmala Sitharaman to be the Women and Child Development Minister in the 'Dream Cabinet'.

Anurag Thakur was voted as the Sports Minister with 42 per cent of participants voting for the BJP leader to retain his ministry. However, Thakur was not included in the new Narendra Modi-led Cabinet.

Fourteen per cent of participants backed Mansukh Mandaviya to retain his Health Ministry, while 15 per cent wanted Shivraj Singh Chouhan to become the new Agriculture Minister in the 'Dream Cabinet', followed by former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Those whose 'Dream Cabinet' will be closest to the actual cabinet, five lucky winners amongst them will receive attractive prizes. After choosing your cabinet, you can also share it with your friends and acquaintances.
