NEW DELHI: Skipper

Hardik Pandya

stressed the importance of character for Mumbai Indians in their final

IPL 2024

league match against Lucknow Super Giants in Mumbai.
"What character we bring into the last match matters," Hardik said after opting to bowl first, underlining the importance of mental fortitude and determination.
"We're going to bowl. Chasing is better in Wankhede. It comes on nicer in the evening.

It's always about playing for the badge, playing for pride - all those words are important in the group,” he said.
With MI already out of playoff contention, Hardik said it gives us more freedom to express ourselves.

"We know where we stand. But ending the season playing good cricket will always be appreciated. It gives us more freedom to go out there and express ourselves," Hardik added.
In a strategic move, MI have included seamer

Arjun Tendulkar

in their playing eleven, resting premier pacer

Jasprit Bumrah

for the T20 World Cup. Additionally, injured Tilak Varma has been replaced by

Dewald Brevis

.
On the other hand, LSG have made a change, swapping Quinton de Kock for

Devdutt Padikkal

.
