NEW DELHI: There's nothing like getting off to a winning start in a tournament. And Kolkata Knight Riders did just that by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2024 season opener at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
Following the win, KKR team co-owner and superstar Shah Rukh Khan visited the team dressing room.

The knights were looking down the barrel against Sunrisers Hyderabad, having lost four wickets inside eight overs, but

's power hitting saw them end up at 208/7. The West Indies all-rounder hit seven sixes and three fours in his 25-ball unbeaten 64.
However, the match could have gone either way as

broke loose with a counter-attacking fifty. But pacer

did well to pick up two wickets in defending 12 runs in the last over.
