Mumbai Indians will look to put their loss against Gujarat Titans in their
IPL 2024
opener behind as they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday. But before the on-field action grips the fans, it was
Rohit Sharma
's
flying kiss
to
Mayank Agarwal
during the teams' practice session that grabbed eyeballs.
However, minutes after posting an image that captured the moment, the Sunrisers Hyderabad removed it from their timelines on social media.
Rohit's gesture was his way of recreating the send-off given by Kolkata Knight Riders' bowler
Harshit Rana
, who blew a 'flying kiss' to Mayank Agarwal after dimissing the SRH opener in their match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
When Rohit did that to Agarwal, the SRH opener couldn't stop laughing, as the picture made it to the SRH timeline on social media, only to be deleted minutes later. "Flying kisses and friendly rivalries," read the caption with the image.
Harshit was fined by the BCCI with a heavy fine for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.
Even batting legend Sunil Gavaskar came down heavily on Harshit's antics, while speaking about the incident on live commentary.
"He should not have done that. Did the batsman do anything to him when he was hitting him for sixes? Cricket can be played without these antics. It's the age of television. I understand that. Celebrate with your teammates but no need for such antics for the opposition," said Gavaskar.
