NEW DELHI: Applauding the shot after being hit for a six? And that too when you're a fast bowler?
Yes, that's exactly what happened in the clash between
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
and Kolkata Knight Riders at the
M Chinnaswamy Stadium
in Bengaluru on Friday.
It was the last ball of the 15th over bowled by
Mohammed Siraj
with KKR captain
Shreyas Iyer
on strike with his team on the course of victory.
Siraj bowled a full delivery at the pads, and
Iyer
met it with a delightful pick-up shot, whipping it over wide long-on.
As the ball went skimming over the ropes,
Siraj
just clapped in appreciation of the shot.
A clip of Siraj applauding the shot is viral on the internet:
This was Shreyas Iyer's 100th six in the IPL.
This is KKR's sixth consecutive win against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium since 2016.
RCB had a 4-2 win record against KKR at home between 2008 and 2015.
KKR have now won five of their last six matches against RCB, they had lost four on the trot before this sequence.
