Bhogle congratulated Gill on securing two points for his team, albeit with a hint of scepticism about the nervy nature of their victory, saying, "Well done, you got two points tonight. I must admit some of us thought you left it too late, but well done today!"

To this, Gill responded with a grin, stating, "Thank you. When GT is playing, don't think (like) that."

But Gill's 72-run knock kept the Titans in contention until his dismissal in the 16th over, when the game became tight again.

A brief yet impactful cameo by Shahrukh Khan (14 off 8 bals), coupled with a quickfire partnership between Rahul Tewatia (22 off 11 balls) and Rashid (24* off 11 balls), injected life into the run-chase.
The game culminated with a last-ball finish, as GT needed two runs to win and Rashid cut Avesh Khan behind point for a four to trigger celebrations.
