Volvo XC40 Recharge singe-motor variant launched at Rs 54.95 lakh: Range, battery, features and more

Swedish car maker

Volvo

today introduced a new

single-motor variant

of the

Volvo XC40 Recharge

electric SUV. The new single-motor variant is priced at

Rs 54.95 lakh

(ex-showroom). For reference, the new single-motor variant costs Rs 2.95 lakh less than the

dual-motor Ultimate variant

. Interested individuals can

book the EV

via Volvo’s online portal only and the

deliveries

are expected to begin soon.

The new Volvo XC40 Single will be brought to India via the

CKD route

and will be assembled locally at the brand’s facility in Hosakote, Karnataka. The new XC40 Recharge Single will be powered by a 69kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor which puts out 238bhp of power and 420Nm of torque, the EV has a range of 592 Km as per

ICAT

. Volvo claims the EV SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 180 kph.

In comparison, the dual-motor version of the XC40 Recharge gets a bigger 79 kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors which puts out a combined output of 402 bhp of power and 660 Nm of torque. Volvo claimed it can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 4.9 seconds.

In terms of features, the EV gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay support, a 12.3-inch-inch digital instrument cluster, a 250 W 8-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, an air purifier, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and more.

Talking about the safety features, it has seven airbags, a rear parking camera, front and rear parking sensors,tyre pressure monitoring system, and ADAS features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection and more. Volvo is offering 8-year battery warranty, a 3-year comprehensive car warranty, a 3-year service package, a 3-year roadside assistance and a 5-year subscription to digital services.
