Video: Kanpur man's 'Titanic' pose on moving bike invites police action

The Kanpur Police on Saturday lodged an FIR against a man after a video of him performing dangerous stunts on a bike went viral on social media.

In the viral video, the man can be seen standing on the moving bike and trying to strike a 'Titanic' pose.

According to the police, the incident happened in the Ganga Barrage area of the city, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nawanganj Police Station.

As the video went viral on social media, the Kanpur Police registered a case against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A fine of Rs 12,000 was also imposed on him by the Unnao Police under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act as the bike was registered in Unnao.

Speaking to the media, Kanpur Police's Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mahesh Kumar said, "Today, a bike stunt video is going viral on social media. The video is of an area that comes under the jurisdiction of Nawabganj Police Station. Police have immediately taken cognisance of the video. A case is going to be registered under section 336 of the IPC. Through the number plate details, we found out that the bike was registered in Unnao. We have also directed the Unnao Police to issue a challan under the MV Act..."

Earlier in a similar incident, a man was fined by the Kanpur Police for performing a dangerous wheelie stunt on his bike in front of police officers in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur.

He was fined Rs 5,000 for his actions.
