BHAGALPUR: A local JD(U) leader named
Raja Yadav
was assaulted by miscreants in broad daylight on Saturday. The incident, which occurred near Parbati Chowk in the University area, was captured on
CCTV cameras
. The alleged motive behind the attack was a
land dispute
.
According to City DSP Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, "We received information that (
JDU
leader) Raja Yadav was beaten due to some land dispute...The injured person was sent for treatment.
In this regard, a complaint has been made by the injured and an investigation has been carried out.
CCTV
footage has also been examined at the incident site. The accused have been identified in some CCTV footage and then the raid was started...During the raid, 1 weapon was recovered from the house of accused
Chander Yadav
and from there he was detained."
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter based on the
complaint filed
by the injured leader. The authorities have also examined the CCTV footage from the incident site to identify the accused individuals involved in the assault.
During a raid conducted at the house of one of the accused, Chander Yadav, the police recovered a weapon and detained him for further questioning.
