The district administration in Maharashtra's Satara demolished illegal portions of a resort in Mahabaleshwar, owned by real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, the father of the teenager involved in the Pune Porsche crash.

District officials demolished the unauthorised construction in the Mahabaleshwar Parsi Gymkhana (MPG) club, in Malkam Peth area in Mahabaleshwar.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had ordered Satara Collector Jitendra Dudi to take action against the resort if it was found to be illegal.

Agarwal built the resort on the 10 acre plot of the Parsi Gymkhana, despite the residential status granted to it by the state government.

The state government had given the 10-acre land on lease to the Gymkhana in favour of the Parsi Trust for 30 years.

However, the 17-year-old accused's grandfather, SK Agarwal, became a member of the trust's committee in 2016. The accused's grandmother, Usha Agarwal's name was also added to the committee.

All Parsi names were removed from the committee list by 2020. Similarly, Vishal Agarwal, Shrey Agarwal and Abhishek Gupta were named as committee members of the trust in 2020.

This 10 acre land was given to the Parsi Trust by the state government for residential use. Earlier, it was a gymkhana of the Parsi community, but Vishal Agarwal converted the gymkhana into a resort and started using for commercial purposes, embellished the heritage structure on the property and built extra cottages. A few years later, he leased out the resort to the hotel industry brand, Regenta.

Notably, while the 17-year-old accused has been sent to an observation home, his father, realtor Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family's driver and pressuring him to take the blame.

Two IT professionals were killed on May 19 after a Porsche driven by Vishal's son, who was drunk, rammed their bike in Kalyani Nagar in Pune.
