sequel

, and it looks like it is finally happening.
Director Raj Mehta has kick started work on the script of the sequel, which will be released with a fresh new title, reports Peepingmoon.

Varun Dhawan will reportedly return for the franchise with a fresh new story but none of the other cast has been confirmed yet. Interestingly, with 'Jugjugg Jeeyo', Karan Johar is investing in yet another franchise, after 'Dhadak', 'Dulhania' and 'Student of the Year' series. 'Jugjugg Jeeyo' also starred Neetu Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Manish Paul and debutante Prajakta Koli. The film, which released on June 24, 2022, earned a lifetime collection of Rs 85 crore.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan will soon be seen in action-packed film ‘Baby John’, backed by Atlee, who is renowned for his work on ‘Jawan’, Under the direction of A. Kaleeswaran, this action entertainer boasts a stellar cast including Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. The film's soundtrack is crafted by S. Thaman. Apart from this, Varun will also mark his OTT debut with action series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
