Vande Bharat lady loco pilot to attend PM-elect Modi's swearing-in ceremony

Senior assistant loco pilot Aiswarya S Menon of Southern Railway's Chennai Division will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister for a third term, a statement from the Southern Railway said on Friday.

Menon, who currently operates the premium Vande Bharat trains, is amongst ten loco pilots who have been invited for the ceremony slated to be held on June 9 in New Delhi, it added.

Menon, an experienced loco pilot with the Chennai Division, has accomplished the achievement of completing more than two lakh footplate hours, piloting trains including the Vande Bharat Express and Jan Shatabdi.

She has also received accolades from senior officials for her awareness, agility, and thorough understanding of railway signalling.

Menon currently operates trains in Southern India, including premium trains such as the Chennai–Vijayawada and Chennai–Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express services since their introduction.
