United States Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, is super excited about his first official trip to Bengaluru and asked residents for recommendations regarding food and sightseeing. On X (formerly Twitter), Garcetti shared a video as he greeted Bengaluru on May 24 while his post prompted a response from DK Suresh, Congress MP for Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha Constituency.

“I want your advice. What are the places I should see? What is the food that I should eat? What are the experiences I should have? Send us your ideas and I’ll send you a report back from a beautiful city where we’re going to show this relationship literally extends to the stars between US and India in Bengaluru,” Garcetti said in the video.

In the caption of his post, Garcetti asked Bengaluru residents about one dish that he “absolutely can't miss” during his trip.

“Namaskara Bengaluru! I am excited to explore the Silicon Valley of India and home of #USIndia space program. As I get ready for my trip, I'm curious to know what's the must-see sight and one dish I absolutely can't miss while I'm there?”

While there were several suggestions in the comments section for Garcetti, DK Suresh said that he must enjoy a crispy Masala Dosa during his trip.

“Welcome to #NammaBengaluru @USAmbIndia. Bengaluru is truly a paradise, while you're here enjoy a crispy Masala Dose and soak in the beauty of the Vidhana Soudha,” DK Suresh said.

And then, this.

Take a look at some more comments on Garcetti’s post.

Eric Garcetti, the former Mayor of Los Angeles, was officially sworn in as the US Ambassador to India in 2023.
