United Airlines flight makes second emergency landing at Newark Airport

NEWARK, New Jersey (PIX11) -- A United Airlines flight bound for Puerto Rico made an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday morning, according to the FAA.

The flight returned to Newark around 10 a.m. after the crew reported a fire alarm in the flight deck, FAA officials tell PIX11 News.

No injuries have been reported the FAA is continuing to investigate what may have happened.

It marks the second time flight 2143 was forced to turn back to Newark Airport after it made an emergency landing last Saturday.

PIX11 News has reached out to United Airlines and the Port Authority for a statement but did not receive a response at the time of publishing.
