UES affordable housing lottery has apartments under $1,000

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) – Thanks to the affordable housing lottery, you can rent on the Upper East Side for under $1,000 per month.

Some 27 affordable units are available at a property on Third Avenue and 61st Street. There are 11 studio apartments available for $960 per month for renters making up to $43,480 per year.

The units on the affordable housing lottery also include one- and two-bedrooms costing between $1,601 and $4,347 per month. 

Amenities include in-unit washers, driers and dishwashers, and a gym and rooftop terrace in the building.

Interested renters will need to apply on NYC Housing Connect by May 16. Some 20% of the affordable units will be reserved for locals and another 5% for city employees. Other units will be reserved for people with mobility, vision and hearing issues. 

Here’s a full list of affordable housing units available: 

  • 11 studios renting for $960 per month 
  • One studio renting for $1,503 per month
  • Nine one-bedrooms renting for $1,601 per month
  • One two-bedroom renting for $1,901 per month
  • Two one-bedrooms renting for $3,640 per month
  • Three two-bedrooms renting for $4,347 per month
