Truck driver dies due to fire in the vehicle on GT road

LUDHIANA: A

truck driver

died after the truck he was sleeping in caught fire near a petrol pump in

Mehndipur village

of Bija on GT road on Friday night.
As per reports, The fire was so fierce that the truck driver did not even get a chance to get out of the truck and reportedly has burnt to death inside the truck. The reports suggest that The cause of the truck fire could not be ascertained.

As per the information, the driver of the Himachal Pradesh number truck was parked at a petrol pump on the

Ludhiana-Delhi National Highway

near Bija village in Khanna and the driver was sleeping in the truck. Around 3.30 am, the truck caught fire and the driver was burnt inside.
Local sources said that Although the petrol pump workers present at the spot tried to control the fire, they could not save the driver.
Kuldeep Singh, who works at the petrol pump, said that the vehicle was parked at the pump at night and the driver was asleep. He added Suddenly, at 3 am in the morning, the truck caught fire. He said that they tried hard to douse the fire with water and fire extinguisher cylinders but could not control the fire and could not save the driver.
