Threat in Bengaluru prison, 4 shifted to Tumakuru jail

BENGALURU: Three suspects, who had falsely owned up the killing of

Renukaswamy

over alleged

financial dispute

, and another arrested accused will soon be shifted from Bengaluru’s Central Prison to Tumakuru District Prison over perceived threat to life.
A Bengaluru court Monday approved the police request to shift the four suspects.

“These accused face a threat from other co-accused in the case. Also, there are many fans of Darshan inside the prison, and they could harm these suspects,” police informed the court.
Security reasons cited for moving murder accused
The four suspects will be shifted out on Monday night or Tuesday morning, sources said.

Special public prosecutor Prasanna Kumar P cited security reasons and requested the court that T Ravishankar, V
Kartik alias Kappe, R Keshavamurthy, and Nikhil Nayak should be shifted from Bengaluru to Tumakuru.
Other than Ravishankar, the three others had surrendered before police, claiming they had killed Renukaswamy and disposed of the body near the drain. Ravishankar had played a vital role in kidnapping Renukaswamy from Chitradurga and later dumping the body near Summanahalli drain in Bengaluru.
