‘This will not be your usual boy-meets-girl love story’

The trio, who are working with each other for the first time, say that they are having a great time working together

Jayam Ravi

and

Nithya Menen

are two actors who aren’t strangers to the world of romantic movies. They will be pairing up for the very first time in

Kadhalikka Neramillai

, directed by

Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi

. We got a peek into the making of the film during an exclusive visit to its
set recently...
We all just enjoy shooting together on sets: Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi
We are currently shooting a scene in which Nithya and Ravi meet after a gap, and they are recalling the last time they met.

Every day on the film set is a fun day. We all just enjoy shooting together on sets. Half of my stress was gone when I got good actors like Nithya and Ravi to be part of the film. We all get along well, too.

On working with AR Rahman
Kiruthiga has roped in acclaimed composer AR Rahman to compose the music for the film. Talking about working with the Oscar winner, she says, “I was on cloud nine about the fact that I was able to speak back and forth with Rahman sir and get songs from him. We have already recorded one song with Shruti Haasan. He is very humble and energetic. He is also ready to take others’ suggestions into account.”

It’s a relaxed and happy atmosphere on set: Nithya
I feel that there are a lot of restrictions for actresses in mainstream cinema. This film breaks a lot of those norms. It’s a relaxed, friendly and happy atmosphere on set. It has been very comfortable working
with Kiruthiga.
It will be different from my other romantic movies: Jayam Ravi
Kadhalikka Neramillai will be different from my other romantic movies because the other films I have done in this genre have been boy-meets-girl stories. But this film will showcase a mature love, and that’s not just in terms of age. It’s usually said that a film needs a beginning, middle and end. Kiruthiga has broken that with this film, as the narrative doesn’t play out in a way where the two people meet, fall in love, and decide whether or not they will be together.
