NEW DELHI:

Ireland

managed to secure a narrow one-run victory over the

Netherlands

in the

Tri-Nation T2OI series

on Sunday, despite a valiant effort by

Tim Pringle

in the closing stages of the match.
Chasing a target of 151 in The Hague, the Netherlands found themselves in a precarious position at 108-6 with only three overs remaining.
However, Pringle's late heroics nearly turned the tables on Ireland.

The 21-year-old showcased his power-hitting abilities, smashing an unbeaten 35 off just 13 balls, including two fours and three sixes. Two of his maximums came in the last three deliveries of the final over, setting the stage for a nail-biting finish.
Mark Adair

, Ireland's bowling allrounder, held his composure under immense pressure. He managed to restrict Pringle to a single off the last ball, ensuring Ireland's victory by the slimmest of margins in their opening match of the series.

Earlier in the game, after winning the toss and electing to field, the Netherlands had Ireland in trouble. However, Adair's crucial contribution with the bat at number eight proved to be the difference-maker. He blasted 49 runs off just 24 deliveries, propelling Ireland to a competitive total of 150-8.
The Tri-Nation series commenced on Saturday with the Netherlands defeating Scotland by 41 runs. All three participating teams - Ireland, the Netherlands, and Scotland - are set to compete in the upcoming

T20 World Cup

in June, which will be hosted by the United States and West Indies.
