The Fall Guy Box Office collection week 1: Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt starrer scores Rs 4.60 crore in India

Ryan Gosling

and

Emily Blunt

, after fighting it out for

Barbie

and Oppenheinmer respectively, joined forces for their next film

The Fall Guy

. The film is loosely based on the 1980’s TV show by the same name, it revolves around Ryan’s character who is working on his ex-girlfriend Emily Blunt’s debut feature film and also has to search for the lead actor of the film.
The film has set the cash registers ringing across the globe by collecting nearly US $ 70 million as per Box Office Mojo, with more than US $ 36 million coming from non-American markets.

And in this, the Indian Box Office has played a small but significant role. The film, which has completed 7 days at the box office, has earned about Rs 4.59 crore with very high chances of it crossing Rs 6.5 crore by the weekend.
Given the success of recent Hollywood films in India like

Dune 2

,

Kung Fu Panda 4

,

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire

, the numbers of The Fall Guy look pale. But one needs to understand all the other films mentioned above were part of franchises and there was already a market set for them, while Fall Guy is a stand alone film. Also it was released only in English and Hindi, thus limiting the release of the film to only a certain section of the audience.
