Teen girl's body found hanging from tree in Delhi's Japanese Park

NEW DELHI: A teenage girl, aged between 14 and 16 years, was discovered hanging from a tree in Japanese Park in Delhi's Rohini area on Saturday morning. Police suspect suicide, though the identity of the deceased remains unknown.
The discovery was made around 6.45 am when a passerby alerted the Prashant Vihar police station.

"The body was discovered around 6.45 am when a passerby informed the Prashant Vihar police station about the incident. A police team rushed to the spot and found the girl hanging with a dupatta tied to a tree," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Amit Goel.

Her slippers were found at the base of the tree, suggesting she removed them before the incident. No external injuries were visible on the body at the scene.
Police have cordoned off the area and called in crime scene investigators and a Forensic Science Laboratory team to examine the location. The body has been moved to a hospital for

post-mortem examination

Authorities are working to identify the girl by checking missing persons reports and making inquiries in nearby areas.
A case has been registered as police continue their investigation to determine the exact sequence of events.
Law enforcement officials are treating the case as a suspected suicide based on preliminary findings.
