MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A teenager is accused of fatally shooting two men and injuring another outside a Manhattan smoke shop on Sunday, according to the NYPD.
The boy, 16, allegedly shot the victims in front of the Blue Sky smoke shop near West 207th Street and 10th Avenue at around 11:40 p.m., police said.
Michael James, 44, was shot in the face, and Alejandro Ramirez, 45, was shot in the chest. They were taken to local hospitals and pronounced dead, according to the NYPD. The men were not the intended targets.
A group, including the intended target, was hanging out in front of the smoke shop when the teen and three individuals walked past, police said. Words were exchanged before the suspect pulled out a pistol and opened fire, authorities said. The teen was captured on surveillance firing at the group from down the block.
James and Ramirez were caught in the crossfire, and the third victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to a hospital in stable condition, police said.
The teen was arrested on murder charges.
