TIRUPATI:
Telugu Desam party
(
TDP
) has referred to the various cases involving Rajya Sabha member V
Vijayasai Reddy
and termed him a ‘white collar criminal’.
The party also accused Vijayasai Reddy, now contesting as the
YSR Congress Party
candidate for
Nellore
Lok Sabha constituency, as an ‘outsider’ and having done nothing for his native Nellore district.
Addressing a media conference here on Tuesday, TDP spokesperson
Anam Venkataramana Reddy
brushed aside Vijayasai Reddy’s claim as a ‘son of the soil’ and asked him to recall his contributions, if any, to the district.
“The MP candidate is known to none in Nellore and he has nothing to brag about. The local voters have to exercise caution over his newfound love for Nellore constituency”, he said.
Venkataramana Reddy referred to an order by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) against Vijayasai Reddy, a chartered accountant by profession and recalled that he had been accused of ‘professional misconduct’. "If the certificate from the top most institute is not enough, who else will have to prove his credentials.", he wondered.
It may be recalled that Vijayasai Reddy has moved the
Telangana
high court challenging the proceedings initiated by the ICAI’s disciplinary directorate and terming it as ‘arbitrary and in voilation of the principles of natural justice’.
