Actor Taapsee Pannu shared that she was brought into the Hindi film industry due to her resemblance to Preity Zinta. Taapsee, who appeared as a guest on cricketer Shikhar Dhawan's debut talk show, disclosed how, since then, she has tried to live up to the 'Veer-Zaara' actor's reputation.

Sharing more details on the show 'Dhawan Karenge', Taapsee shared how she started bagging roles in Telugu and Tamil while she was pursuing engineering. "Many thought that I was a new version of Preity Zinta. That was the reason I got offers in Bollywoodâ€æ She has a very positive energy, and you know it better than me because you must have interacted with her more. I have only seen her on TV or the big screen", she said.

Taapsee added, "I think the category of Preity Zinta is someone who can be lively and be with brains. I felt like I had to live up to that reputation for which they brought me into the industryâ€æ because of her name. So, I always put in some effort to be like her."

Taapsee made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film 'Jhummandi Naadam' and the Hindi film 'Chashme Baddoor'. She garnered attention only after portraying an undercover agent in Akshay Kumar's film 'Baby'. She also featured in other films, such as 'Pink', 'Manmarziyan', 'Judwaa 2', 'Saand Ki Aankh', 'Mission Mangal' and 'Thappad'.

She was last seen in the 2023 film 'Dunki', co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal. It was helmed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Taapsee's will soon feature in 'Khel Khel Mein'. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, other than Taapsee, the film boasts an incredible star cast including Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and Fardeen Khan in key roles.

On the personal front, Taapsee recently married her longtime boyfriend, Mathias Boe, in Udaipur. It was a private affair that took place in March this year.
